The series "TO BE OR NOT TO BE..." includes a few paintings, but new paintings appear occasionally. This series is a reflection, ideological, humanistic, and philosophical position. But as an Artist, I try to create an associative image that is accessible to interpretation and individual reading by each viewer. I do not want to impose my view and my thoughts. But I want to maybe "ASK QUESTIONS...." I think works of art should provoke thoughts and "ASK QUESTIONS", but not impose "ANSWERS". The world is multifaceted and changeable around us... So, the series contains different themes and therefore different concepts for each picture. “PRAYER.” The basic concept of this work is not religious in the direct understanding of the topic of prayer or repentance. This is a reflection on the essence of man, on his inalienable forever hidden within, fear of the world, and an attempt to find protection in the created images of gods and religions in a dialogue or monologue with the world. A poor body that bears the traces of this world and years lived, and the mind, seeking to find support and the meaning of being in something higher and more perfect. "ASH." is my thoughts on values, humanity, and grief of despair. This is an allegory, a figurative embodiment of a tormented hard fate, tired of tragedies and war, the UKRAINIAN LAND. “ADAM. SELF-CULT.” It is a reflection of the modern transformation of the image of masculinity. I am not trying to flesh out the image, I believe that Art should ask questions without answering them, so here I am speaking with symbols. (For example, dead birds symbolize female souls in the collection of an egoist, carried away by himself and new trends of progress) This image, of course, has no specific connection with religion, it is just the use of philosophy. "BURDEN." That's my metaphor for life's journey. An old fisherman, who has spent all his strength and lifetime trying to catch a large fish, cannot carry it, he is bent by sweat. Time is spent meanings and goals are gone and changed....
The ” PEOPLE OF JAZZ “series follows the chords and syncopations of jazz and old blues music. The main concept of these paintings is the expression of jazz music through color, the plasticity of lines and shapes, stylization, and transformation of the images of famous musicians, creators of the magic of jazz improvisation. Yes, these are sometimes tired and sad faces of the great creators of blues and jazz, dissolving in cigarette smoke and the sounds of music, to which they devoted their lives, thoughts, and souls, and themselves became music, dissolving in it. In portraits of musicians, I transform faces, hands and musical instruments with a single plastic pictorial and graphic language, uniting and figuratively highlighting what gives rise to music, which becomes an independent rhythmic essence of the whole image. I am moving away from the real image of a musician towards an abstract transformation of space and color and the very image of the performer as a whole, trying to express the main thing, music in my paintings. Because it is music that is the unifying conceptual meaning of this entire series. At the same time, music is the inspiration and the basis of the style for paintings “BEVY.“This series is emotionally connected and inspired by light Ambient style Lounge or Acid Jazz Music surrounds, envelops with sounds, light pleasant sensations of calm and romance, the sounds of the sea breeze, the rustling waves, clinking cocktails and female voices in a transparent, radiant air. Light figures of girls in bright fluttering dresses with fancy hairstyles are very dynamic in colors and plastic lines and silhouettes. Girls have easy conversations, like birds in the garden, in the flowing vibrations and sounds of the enveloping, relaxing tenderness of life. This is a musical and picturesque illusion, but it seeks its harmony and creates a mood of intoxicating lightness, emotionality, variability of moods, and enchantment. However, the general construction of the compositions of these paintings remains semi-abstract, devoid of strict concreteness, and disposes the viewer to fantasies.
These paintings are united by a common theme - a concept that can be called - "The imprint of time in space." The compositions are based on the symbols of Art, architecture, nature and the spirit of society from different eras, the history of civilization. These symbolic connections arise unexpectedly and occur in this picture of one's life, forming romanticism accompanying the events and a sense of an irresistible connection between place, time, era, society, Art, nature. Close to this concept is the painting series "Island." This is a surrealistic and symbolic embodiment of space in the imagery of female figures. The metaphorical basis in the feminine principle is the basis of life, the earth in Eastern philosophy. Feminine, earthly, love, and desire to attract wanderers, the maternal principle of the earth. Male, searching and traveling, but seeking to find his "Island".
