Ink and charcoal
130 x 97
The "INFINITIF" series consists of portraits of women made with charcoal and mixed media on natural linen canvas by the artist Zoé B. There is something primitive, almost animal for some of these large format faces that brings the viewer back to that part of the human being that remains authentic, a raw and instinctual self that remains beyond the turmoil of our external personalities. A verb in the INFINITIVE describes an action that is not conjugated. No "I" or "we" to act. In other words, a raw action devoid of voluntary intention.
