The wall is an important object in the history of art. From prehistory to contemporary art, the wall is the privileged place of artistic expression. As a boundary, it both closes and opens up the artistic space. It engages the gaze towards possibilities or, on the contrary, folds it in on itself. The wall could be the plastic metaphor of the subject.
