THE ORCHARD

The book of the same name ‘De Orchard’ by Nomi Eve served as a source of inspiration for this painting. Her stories in which the voices of five Jewish sounding through generations inspired the Artist to use sheet metal to incorporate parts of the family history into the trees of the orchard. As with a real orchard, the atmosphere and appearance of the work of Art are strongly influenced by the incidence of (sun) light.
